- 102㎡ red clay experience space, 25㎡ red clay ball experience space, and 230m red clay trail to be constructed - Cheongju announced that it has started construction for the “Geumcheon Reservoir Park Red Clay Experience Zone Project.” This project is designed to cultivate a healing haven to foster the well-being of citizens by creating a red clay experience zone where individuals are invited to indulge in barefoot walking within the city center. The bustling Geumcheon Reservoir Neighborhood Park (330 Geumcheon-dong, Sangdang-gu), renowned as a favorite among locals, is set to unveil a 102㎡ space for indulging in the squishy sensation of red clay alongside a 25㎡ area designed for therapeutic benefits of red clay balls and a newly created 230-meter red clay trail. To sustain the moisture in the red clay experience space, a misting fountain system will also be thoughtfully integrated. In addition, there will be foot-washing facilities available to rinse off the red clay from the feet, along with the installation of three shade canopies and seating walls for citizens’ comfort. A total of KRW 200 million will be allocated for the project, which is scheduled to conclude by June. “With barefoot walking becoming a trend across the country, there is heightened interest among citizens in red clay trails. We will make every effort to allow our citizens to gain convenient, safe access to the red clay experience space,” officials from the city said. Meanwhile, the municipal government is also currently involved in the extension project of the luxury red clay trail in Sugok-dong, which was created last year. Once construction is finished by June, a 2km round-trip red clay trail will be available for access to its citizens. |
