- Creating Nature-Friendly Relaxation Spaces for Family Bonding - Cheongju has announced its plans to undertake the improvement project of the outdoor ecological viewing environment at Cheongju Land to enhance citizens’ convenience. The existing ecological pond site next to the third exhibition hall of the Children's Center will undergo development to include waterside deck, shaded rest areas, rock gardens, and photo zone, alongside pathway improvements. For family visitors, a grass plaza where children can play will be constructed. Located at the midpoint between the Children's Center and Cheongju Zoo, this space is expected to serve as a healing sanctuary for visitors to pause and rejuvenate as they explore both attractions. Cheongju finalized the preliminary design for the outdoor ecological viewing environment improvement project in April, and it is currently undertaking the necessary pre-procedures for project execution. Construction is set to begin in July and conclude by October, with total project budget of KRW 500 million. “It will serve as a new haven for relaxation for families and visitors to Cheongju Land. We will consistently improve facilities for citizens’ convenience and organize diverse experiential programs leveraging the outdoor ecological pond in the future," city officials said. |
