Cheongju to provide support for installation of eco-friendly residential boilers
- A total of 5,327 boilers for KRW 200,000 each - Cheongju will provide support for the installation of eco-friendly residential boilers that emit less nitrogen oxides, which is the main cause of air pollution. This project means to provide the subsidy of KRW 200,000 per boiler (KRW 600,000 for low-income households) to 5,327 new or replaced eco-friendly boilers with a total budget of KRW 1 billion. The application period is until the budget is exhausted. The eco-friendly boiler that is eligible for the subsidy is a product that has earned the environmental labeling by the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute, and can reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 80% compared to general boilers while saving about KRW 100,000 in fuel costs per year. Application may prepare documents including the application form (posted in the notice on the city hall website) and submit it to the Climate and Air Quality Division at the Cheongju City Hall by visit or mail.
