Subject Cheongju-si advises to refrain from participating in group exercises in civilian sports facilities.

In response to the numerous confirmed cases of COVID-19 tied to group exercise facilities, Cheongju-si issued safety guidelines to all registered sports facilities in the region (935 facilities including martial arts academies), advising them to refrain from group exercises.

In addition, Cheongju-si issued the same COVID-19 safety guidelines to all types of business facilities that are not registered sports facilities, but involve group exercises in closed spaces (Zumba dance, aerobics, etc.), advising them to refrain from group exercises.

It also plans to stay vigilant against the spread of COVID-19, continuously monitoring and supervising all facilities registered under Cheongju Education Support Centers (private academies and educational institutions, etc.). It has recommended temporary closure of the facilities and been tracking the operational status while sharing the current status of progression.

A city spokesperson said, “In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is crucial for everyone not to participate in any type of group activity. For this reason, we would like to ask for cooperation from all civilian facilities in the city and their users.”
