Let’s Learn About Our Home Cheongju Field Study Program to be Operated
- Introducing the History, Culture, and Administration of Cheongju-si to Students at Sannam Elementary School - - A Glimpse of a Bright Future for Cheongju Reflected in the Curious and Bold Eyes of Children - Cheongju-si has recently set up a space where children can learn about their hometown Cheongju, much to the pleasure of elementary school students and their parents. The city ran the Let’s Learn About Our Home Cheongju field study program at the conference room of City Hall on the 19th at 11 am with 25 3rd-grade students from Sannam Elementary School in attendance. On that date, the visiting students watched a promotional video about the city administration that was produced to meet children at their own level. Following that was an introduction to the history, culture, and administration of Cheongju, and then a session where students could freely ask any questions they had about the city. The students also visited the Mayor’s Office and made valuable memories by seeing what it felt like to be the Mayor of Cheongju and taking commemorative photos with Mayor Han Beum-deuk himself. The field study then concluded with a view of Cheongju Eupseong Fortress and the Iron Flagpole at Yongdusa Temple Site. Yun Hyeon-suk, a teacher at Sannam Elementary School who served as a guardian for the students on their visit, said, “It was a valuable opportunity to learn about our home Cheongju in an easy-to-understand and fun manner”, and also said, “We are thankful to everyone who gave up time from their busy schedules to make this possible.” Cheongju-si Public Relations Officer Seo Dong-hwa stated, “As I looked into the eyes of the children who wanted to learn more about our home Cheongju, I felt reassured by the curiosity and bold hearts reflected within them, which gives me hope for a brighter future for Cheongju”, and added, “We will do our best to develop various promotional measures and spread knowledge of our home Cheongju’s true value so that these children, who will open the future, can take pride in Cheongju.” The Let’s Learn About Our Home Cheongju field study program is held monthly for elementary school students in the Cheongju region, and offers visits to not just City Hall, but also the CCTV integrated control center, water treatment plant, sewer treatment plant, and other administrative or cultural sites. ▶ Contact: Public Relations Office Public Relations Team Assistant Director Won Hyo-jae (☎201-1062) |
