These days, Cheongju Land sees no end to visitors from not just Cheongju itself, but also Asan, Cheonan, Daejeon, and Sejong-si, welcoming an average of 4,000 visitors every weekend. The 3-day Golden Weekend taking place from May 5th (Children’s Day) to May 7th was especially hectic, with over 10,000 visitors seeking out the zoo to enjoy all the programs and events that it had to offer in celebration of May, the ‘Family Month.’ The sharp rise in visitors appears to be tied to the opening of Cheongju 3rd Bypass and Asan-Cheongju Expressway, which has allowed for easier access to Cheongju Land, leading to families from neighboring regions, such as Asan and Cheonan, to visit the zoo alongside local Cheongju citizens. Cheongju Land currently raises and displays 542 animals (92 species), of which 182 animals (38 species) are mammals, 344 animals (46 species) are birds, and 16 animals (8 species) are reptiles.
