Cheongju City announced that it is offering a “village tax accountant” program that provides national and regional tax consultation services for small businesses.
The program provides free tax consultation services to citizens who cannot access tax consultation services due to financial reasons through tax accountants’ talent donation. As of late last year, the village tax accountants provided 789 consultations. Of the consultations provided, 57% was telephone consultations while 40% was in-person consultations; 15% was about regional tax and 85% was about national tax. This year, Cheongju City appointed six village tax accountants, and their term will last for two years until 2023. Citizens who wish to receive consultation services from the village tax accountants can find contact details of them via the official website of Cheongju City (Information by area > Tax > Village tax accountant), the Tax Division at the Cheongju City Hall, or the Tax Collection Division at the District Office. The consultation services can be received via telephone, fax, and post. An official from the city government said, “We will continue to improve the program to provide the socially vulnerable greater access to tax consultation services. We hope the program provides practical help to citizens.” |
