-An Agreement is Signed between Tourism Consultative Groups of Chorokgamtu Village-
Cheongju-si signed an agreement with Cheongnamdae, Chorokgamtu Village (Sandeok-ri, Munui-myeon), and Memorial Inc., at the city hall on the 26thto work together in invigorating rural tourism. This agreement differs from MOUs that simply deal with work support or joint implementation of the work in that it is signed with a focus on developing rural tourism content that is sustainable and creates profit, while also having actual binding force by stating detailed matters including the responsibilities of each subject and job assignments in the agreement. The goal is to develop into a representative rural recreational experience tourist spot which can be connected to the presidential content of Cheongnamdae by developing contentsthat enable actual profit creation, such as camps to enhance leadership capabilities, and attracting over 5000 tourists annually in the areas around Sandeok-ri, Munui-myeon, which is a rural village near the Daecheongho Lake. In order to achieve this, Chorokgamtu Village will offer farming experience toursas the actual operating entity, Cheongju-si will provide administrative support andand help with the installation of necessary facilities, Cheongnamdae will jointly respond to shared tourism demands and support promotional marketing, and Memorial Inc., a consulting company, will be in charge of developing tourism content and providing consultingservices to strengthen the capabilities of the residents. Chorokgamtu Village is a village around Sandeok-ri and Guryong-ri in Munui-myeon, and was developed as a rural recreational experience village with support from the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC). The development was carried out from 2013 to 2016, and the village is now completed. Currently, it functions as a tourist spot where over 3000 visitors visit annually by word of mouth. Furthermore, it is forecasted that active responses will be made against the problems such asthe aging of village residents, who are the operating entities, and insufficient tourism infrastructures, by bringing in external experts and investing in facilities through this agreement.
